Guidelines: All students in grades 6-11 will read one book, which has been carefully chosen by the grade level teachers in collaboration with the English Department. Students will receive study guides to aid in their reading and understanding of their assigned book and will be tested on the novel during the first few days of the 2008-2009 school year.

Students will have an opportunity to read or work on study guides under a teacher’s supervision during the following dates over the summer. These optional sessions will be held in the summer of 2008. Specific dates will be forthcoming.

In addition, all study guides will be posted on the school website. This will give students access to all necessary information. Furthermore, sometime at the end of July, a postcard will be sent home as a reminder to read the novel for the upcoming school year.

The following libraries have been notified of the Summer Reading Program and have agreed to have the books available for students to check out.
