Peotone Junior High School -- District 207-U

Letter From the Principal:

Peotone Junior High School is a learning community dedicated to providing multiple opportunities for students to be successful in a positive, caring, learning environment. Our instructional program is enriched throughout the year by using a middle school schedule with trimesters. The implementation of a double-block Language Arts program will encourage much needed skills in the future of our students.

Currently the Junior High houses grades 6-8 with eight class periods. Technology and reading in the content areas will be emphasized to meet and exceed the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act. Teachers use a wide range of curriculum material to address local and state mandated standards. Peotone Junior High School has a very supportive and active 28 member faculty who, together with parents and community strive to make a difference in the life of every child.

The school provides instruction in several programs with specialists. Specialists teach classes in physical education, art, music, and band. Most of the special education students in the building receive services in the regular education classroom as part of an inclusion program.

After school programs, clubs, and sports help keep the students active in the community and to think globally. For more information contact me at 708-258-3246 or visit the rest of the Peotone District’s web site.

Sincerely,
Greg Oliver
Principal
