The PJHS Library has about 4,000 books and 9 computers for student use. I am the Library Media Specialist for the district, meaning I am the only librarian in the district who oversees all 6 building libraries. I also am in charge of media in the JH, (TV's, VCR's VCR & DVD combination, videos in the library) and make sure the teachers have all the "media" (audio books, CD's, DVD's, software for all subjects), they need to teach in their subject area. We have regular classes in the library almost daily, all day long. The library is used for checking our books for pleasure reading, research, silent sustained reading, formal receptions for parents by classes, and project building. (scrapbooks, creating board games, hardback books written and published by students, large group work.) It is popular for these things because we have space and large tables to work on.

I have been employed by the district since 1970, first as an Special Education Teacher for 10 years, Elementary Teacher for 3 years, Coach for Girls' Basketball, Track, Volleyball, and Softball for 19 years, Study Hall supervisor and Librarian at the old JH for three years, and Library Media Specialist at the "new" JH for 4 years. I have been score keeping for the JH and HS for sports activities the last ten years. I work on various committees for the school district and community partnered projects for the betterment of the school district and better educational opportunities for our students.

I have been creating the Video Yearbook and Picture Book for the JH for the last three years.
