The State of Illinois requires that all students entering kindergarten, second and sixth grade are required to have a dental examination. Peotone District 207-U also requires students entering ninth grade to have a dental examination. These are mandatory examinations and can be completed by any dentist that you choose. Forms were already sent home with these students. If you need an additional form please contact your child's school office. Dr. Peter J. March, a local Peotone dentist, is offering free dental screenings to our district on Thursday, March 27 and Monday, March 31, 2008. Times are 8:00 am-11:30 am and 2:00-4:00. Times are the same for both days. No appointment is necessary.

GREEN GARDEN/WILTON CENTER
*********************************
To prepare for spring vacation at Green Garden and Wilton Center, fourth grade students, Kiley Holec, Ty Hensley, Josh Dunigan, Nathan Heller, and Morgan Vincent (Green Garden) and fourth grade students (Wilton Center), Emily Mahalik, Kaila Moe, Reece Pettenon, and Christian Clark helped to plan the week of Activity Days for the entire school population. These students were elected by their peers with a ballot vote. "Spring Fling" has become a tradition for everyone to enjoy. Mrs. Janice Hamning (GG), Assistant to the Principal at Green Garden; Timothy J. Nagra, Assistant to the Principal at Wilton Center; and Mrs. Diane Hattendorf, Principal, for Green Garden and Wilton Center also served on the committee.
Character Education projects for Green Garden and also, at Wilton Center have been focused on compassion for the needy during the month of March. Class competition by percentage of canned goods/non perishable foods collected in each class will set the standard for the winning class. Collections will be given to Frankfort Food Pantry/Green Garden and Manhattan Food Pantry/Wilton Center. The winning class at each school will be treated to a Pizza Party compliments of Mrs. Diane Hattendorf, Principal.
Also, dedicated to the continued focus on patriotism, Mrs. Jan Wilke's grandson, Luke, visited Green Garden School on Thursday, March 13, 2008. Luke has been to Iraq as a member of the military. He answered questions submitted by students, faculty, and staff. The support of Americans throughout our country is meaningful for our veterans.
ISAT Testing has been completed. Results will be distributed in the fall of the 2008-09 school term. Attendance patterns were excellent during this process. Thank you to parents for helping your children to prepare by getting enough rest, eating a healthy breakfast, maintaining quiet in the building, and easing tension for your children.

It is that time of year when planning is initiated to prepare for the next school term. With this in mind, an evening to acquaint parents of students who will be eligible for Kindergarten enrollment for the 2008-2009 school year has been scheduled. The evening will be informal and intended as an adult evening. The date is set for Thursday, April 3, 2008. Peotone Elementary will be the location. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m.
We will begin with the registration process at 6:30 p.m. From 6:30-7:00 p.m. parents may pick up informational/paperwork packets with necessary registration forms. These certificates will be copied and returned to parents before the evening ends. Original birth certificates are required. Students must be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2008, to be eligible for Kindergarten.

At 7:00 p.m. an informational meeting will take place in the gymnasium. Also available during the evening will be school district nurses, Tara Robinson (Peotone Elementary), Dawn Barber (Green Garden and Wilton Center) and Rose Keene (Wilton Center). Health requirements and forms will be explained. Physical and dental forms will be available for parents so that appointments may be made to complete this requirement for admission to Peotone School District.
Mrs. Barbara Rizzo, Peotone Transportation Director, will answer questions about boundaries and locations for individual school assignment. Tina Nicks, Peotone Elementary Principal, and Diane Hattendorf, Principal at Green Garden and Wilton Center, will address questions from the audience and make miscellaneous remarks.
