Peotone Junior High Spelling Club
Club Description: We practice spelling (written/oral) for competitions. The Kan-Will contest is a 100 word written test. There is also the Knights of Columbus Spelling Bee, Bishop MacNamara and Will County Spelling Bee, which could lead to the Scripps' National Spelling Bee.
Eligibility Requirements: Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students who love to spell and enjoys competition.
Time Commitment: Mid-January through April. A lot of independent study time at home.
Meets: Twice a week from 3:30 - 4:00 for practices.
Fees: $20.00 Activity fee
Procedure for Joining: Test given which consists of twenty words. Top scorers (up to ten students) can make the spelling team.
Membership Limit: Ten students
