Green Garden Office

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It soon will be time to open our doors for the 2006-07 school term. It is with this thought in mind that I wish to invite you to the Peotone Community School District 207U. Our school district will offer your children many opportunities throughout the school term. As a unit school district, we are able to provide an education that begins with an Early Childhood foundation and extends to graduation from Peotone High School. Early Childhood classes are held at Peotone Elementary School for students from throughout the district. At Green Garden and Wilton Center Schools, the grade level span begins with Kindergarten and concludes with Grade Four.

Classes are taught to incorporate strategies so that all children may learn in a variety of ways. The teams of faculty and staff that are in place work together to promote positive self esteem for all learners. Classes are taught by specialists in the content areas of gifted, reading, art, physical education, computers, and music. There is no daily hot lunch served at Green Garden or Wilton Center. But, parents with the support and coordination of the Parent Teacher Organization serve a hot lunch meal usually every other week on a specified day. At Wilton Center, this day of the week is generally Friday. While at Green Garden, Thursday has been designated hot lunch day. Parents may volunteer at any time to assist with a variety of programs throughout the school term.

We are proud of the continued parental involvement that is in place. Year after year, our School Report Card reports 100% parent involvement. So, prepare to join with us as we anticipate a year filled with learning as well as activities that "team" each of us together.

I am proud to be the administrator at these two fine buildings. I travel between the schools daily. I may be reached at either location to answer any questions that you may have about our school. I am looking forward to another great school term!
